Korby speaks with East Nashville based singersongwriter Jill Andrews. Formerly the frontwoman of acclaimed Americana band The Everybodyfields, Jill left that band shortly after they performed at Bonaroo and went on to build a solo career now in its third decade. She has written songs for several TV shows - Grey’s Anatomy, This Is Us, Nashville, and Wynnona Earp - among them. And her latest release Modern Age is one of Korby's personal favorites of this year!
In this conversation, we hit up on the underdiscussed subject of the challenge of personal growth within a touring band, what it was like leaving the Everybodyfields at the heighth of their popularity and wondering if she was done with music. In addition to mothering two children, Jill is a prolific writer, so Korby and Jill crack that open and see how she manages to stay creative while keeping the kids fed. And maybe the best part — Jill plays three songs live in the studio, Korby joining on a couple.
